About
Anna Lobbes (b. 1998 Green Bay, WI) is based in the city of Grand Rapids, Michigan. She specializes in acrylic paintings that draw inspiration from Memphis Milano design, which was popularized in the 80s. With a keen eye for vibrant colors and geometric forms, her work encapsulates the essence of this eclectic style, blending nostalgia with modernity.
In each piece, viewers are invited to explore a world where conventional boundaries dissolve, and imagination reigns supreme. Through bold strokes and playful compositions, Anna creates a visual narrative that celebrates the spontaneity and innovation inherent in Memphis design.
Her paintings serve as a vibrant testament to the joyous collision of past and present, evoking a sense of wonder and curiosity in those who encounter them. Anna seeks to remind the audience of the optimism mainstream society had towards the future in the last two decades of the 20th century.
Despite everything, could we regain this sense of hope?
